June 19, 2012 Ceiling Mounted Light Fixtures Recalled by Thomas Lighting Due to Fire and Shock Hazards

This recall involves 28 different models of ceiling flush-mounted light fixtures manufactured between June 1, 2010 through November 25, 2010 with a diameter ranging from 7.5" to 13". All affected fixtures have a round base or canopy affixed to the ceiling and a dome- or cylindrical-shaped cover. The recalled fixtures have a variety of finishes including metal and/or clear or frosted glass and contain one, two or three light bulbs. Canopies are a range of colors including white, bronze, brass (gold) and nickel. Most models have a nib in the center of the dome cover in the same color as the canopy. Although the manufacturer's name, the fixture model number and production date can be found on a printed label on the ceiling-side of the fixture's metal canopy, consumers are advised not to remove the metal canopy from the ceiling in order to access this label. May 23, 2012 Cooper Lighting Recalls Commercial Reflector Assembly with Glass Lens Due to Injury Hazard

This recall involves circular, 7-inch diameter Portfolio aluminum reflector with glass lens designed to be inserted into a light fixture. This reflector is intended for use in indoor, commercial applications, such as office buildings, schools and shopping malls. There are four springs attached to the lip of the reflector. Reflectors marked with a barcoded stamp on their outside surface are not subject this recall. The recall includes reflectors with the following catalogue descriptions: 7080*G, 7081*G, 7280*G, 7281*G, 7380*G, 7381*G, 7780*G, 7781*G, MSP5429*, MSP5443*, OLD-7280KLI4G and 7-inch reflectors with glass lens with the "PDR" (Product Deviation Request or customized product designation) prefix; however, this description does not appear on the product. March 27, 2012 Arena Lamp Recalled by Great American Opportunities Due to Electrical Shock Hazard

This recall involves Arena Lamps (also called Disco Lights, Disco Light Projectors and Arena Light Kaleidoscopes) with the model number 3007952. The model number only appears on the original packaging. The lamp is used to project circular colored lights on a ceiling or wall for lighting effect and comes in a silver, rectangular box shape measuring 9"x5"x5". Light from the lamp is projected from a single circular cut out at one end of the box. A silver handle wraps half-way around the lamp and is affixed with large black thumb screws on either side of the lamp, and there are two rows of ventilation slots along the top. Underneath the lamp is a circular fan vent. On the back of the lamp, an on/off switch, power cord and a knob with the word "FUSE" written in white are in a row along the top. Read more.


March 1, 2012 LED Night Lights Recalled by AmerTac Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

Three AmerTac night lights are being recalled. Each has a model name and two model numbers. The model name and a secondary model number appear only on the packaging. The basic model number appears on the back of the night light. The night lights are rectangular, about 2-3/16 inches high, 3-1/2 inches wide and 1-1/4 inches deep. The front housings for each are either white- or nickel-colored plastic with four horizontal vents and a round light sensor above the top vent. The backs of the night lights are gray plastic with the AmerTac™ logo, the basic model number, "SY" identification code and "ETL" molded into them. February 8, 2012 Spectrum Home Furnishings Recalls Chandeliers Due to Injury Hazard

The recall involves three models of chandeliers with model numbers a83-21502/36+1, a83-1502/36+1 and a46-490/30 printed on the exterior of the box in which the products were shipped. Models a83-21502/36+1 and a83-1502/36+1 are clear crystal chandeliers measuring about 52-inches wide and 60-inches high. Both models have idenitcal appearance, with one model number containing a different type of crystal. Read more.


January 26, 2012 BJ's Recalls LED Flashlight Sets Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

The recall involves Superex SAFETO GO LED flashlight and battery sets. The flashlight sets include one 9.5-inch flashlight with 10 LEDs, two 7.5-inch flashlights with seven LEDs and two 6-inch flashlights with five LEDs. The sets also include seven “D” size batteries and four “AA” size batteries. The flashlights in the sets are made of either red or black plastic with black or gray rubber around the handles and light bases. The words “Superex,” “SAFETO GO Family Pack,” and “Bright White LED Flashlights” appear on the front of the packaging. January 5, 2012 Target Recalls LED Flashlight Sets Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

This recall involves 6-pc. LED Flashlight Sets. They are made of silver plastic with black rubber around the handle and light base. The flashlight sets have UPC code 490021010049 printed on the back of the package. They were sold in sets of six, including two small flashlights measuring about 3 inches long, two medium flashlights about 6 inches long and two large flashlights about 7 1/2 inches long. December 1, 2011 Halloween Projection Flashlights Recalled by Nygala Corp. Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

The black and orange plastic flashlight is 6 ½ inches long and has pumpkins, bats, witches, haunted houses and cats on the handle. The flashlights come with six different plastic lenses that attach to the flashlight to project various images, including a pumpkin, bat, witch, haunted house and cat. September 2, 2011 LED Night Lights Recalled by Camsing Global Due to Burn Hazard

The LED night light contains flame retardant elements, plugs into an electrical outlet, has a white or blue LED bulb, and a clear bulb cover. "Model SBD01", the number "E314462" and "Made in China" are stamped on the back of the night light's plastic white base. The night lights measure about 1 3/4 inches wide by 3 3/4 inches high.
