August 20, 2008 Gardner Bender Recalls Electrical Wire Splices Due to Shock and Fire Hazards

The recalled butt splices are used to connect electrical wires to one another. They are typically used for wiring small electrical appliances, like audio equipment, or in automotive applications. The splices are yellow insulated vinyl and measure about one inch long and ¼ inch wide. They were intended for use with 12-10 AWG wire. 12-10 is stamped on the side of the splices. Model numbers 10-126, or 21-126, and Gardner Bender are printed on the product’s packaging. They were sold in packages of 8 or 50. Read more.


August 19, 2008 Flame Weeders Recalled by Gardener's Supply Co. Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

The recalled flame weeders are used to burn weeds. The weeders have a long silver colored metal tube with a blue plastic handle which is attached by a two-piece brass valve to a 1 lb. propane tank. Read more.


August 7, 2008 Fire and Burn Hazards Prompt Recall of Gas Grills Sold at Lowe's Stores

This recall involves Perfect Flame brand grills, Model GAC3615 four burner LP gas grills. The grill has two lids. "Perfect Flame" is printed on the larger lid. The model number, serial number, and date code are printed on a label on the right side cart frame panel. The following serial numbers and date codes are included in this recall. Read more.


July 17, 2008 Log Splitter Engines Recalled By American Honda Motor Co. Due to Fire Hazard

The recall involves Honda engines (model type GCV160LA N1A) used in Split Master by SpeeCo and Huskee brand log splitters. Only engine serial numbers between 5547012 and 6880908 are included in the recall. The serial number is located below the upper shroud near the oil dip-stick. The following models of log splitters are affected by the recall and are either silver/black or red/black colored. Read more.


July 10, 2008 Lawn Mowers Recalled by American Honda Motor Corp. Due to Laceration Hazard

This recall involves HRX walk-behind lawn mowers with model numbers HRX217(K)2HXA and HRX217(K)2HMA. The model and serial number are printed on a label located on the upper rear of the mower deck. Serial numbers included in the recall are MAGA-1500001 through 1520532. The recalled lawn mowers are red with “HONDA” written on the bag. Read more.


July 3, 2008 Outdoor Canopies Sold Exclusively at BJ's Wholesale Club Recalled by Wanda Technology Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves the outdoor canopies with “Code Number: 1020-8-WT2007”. The canopies are white, measure 10’ X 20’, and have a metal frame with four corner posts that support a fabric top which shields the user from the sun. The code number can be found on a label sewn into the canopy fabric. Read more.


June 24, 2008 A. O. Smith Recalls Water Pump Motors Due to Fire Hazard

The recall involves motors included with lawn sprinkler pumps and jet pumps manufactured by F. E. Myers Co. The recall also includes replacement pump motors that were sold separately. Read more.


June 4, 2008 QVC Recalls Tomato Planters Due to Collapse Hazard

The Topsy-Turvy Deluxe Tomato Planter with Stand (Item Numbers M16702 and M17499) is an upright planter used for growing tomatoes, peppers, or cucumbers. The planter consists of a 16” X 15” bag which holds up to 30 pounds of soil and is attached to the top of a 6-foot tall adjustable pole. Three legs are inserted into the pole to form a 36-inch wide base. Read more.


May 22, 2008 Char-Broil Recalls Two-Burner Gas Grills Sold Exclusively at Mills Fleet Farm Stores Due to Fire, Burn Hazard

This recall involves the Char-Broil gas grills with model number 463720108 and serial number ranging from 000001 to 000402. The gas grills have a main burner with two-burner plates, a 170 square inch swing-away rack, two side shelves and a condiment basket. Char-Broil’s logo is on the top of the lid of the grill. The serial and model numbers are located on the white rating label on the back of the horizontal support of the grill. Read more.


May 15, 2008 Shindaiwa Corp. Recalls Backpack Blowers Due to Laceration and Impact Hazards

This recall involves Shindaiwa Models EB8510 and EB8510RT. All models up to serial # 7014728 are included. The backpack blowers weigh approximately 24 pounds and include Serial Numbers through February 2007 production (S/N 702XXXX) which are located on the side label. These machines are black and blue with a red and black label that reads, “EB8510, Shindaiwa.” Read more.
