July 26, 2005 Kidde Recall of Industrial Fire Extinguishers

This Alert involves all Kidde 10 lb. dry chemical fire extinguishers manufactured with a black plastic Zytel® nylon valve assembly and a steel cylinder between 1991 and 2000. These units were the subject of Kidde Service Bulletin 007 issued on July 21, 2004. These units were designed for commercial and industrial applications, and the majority of these units were placed into service in factories, plants, businesses and other commercial locations as they require service by a qualified Fire Extinguisher Distributor or Service Organization every 6 years. Some of these units are in use in residential settings. The affected extinguishers have a steel cylinder with a welded neck ring and are between 19 to 21 inches tall as depicted in the image below. July 11, 2005 Perm-a-Store Announce Recall of Inprint Safe-Boxes for Handguns

These silver Inprint™ safe-boxes are about 8-inches long, 6-inches wide and 12.5-inches high and have "INPRINT" written on the top of the safe. They have serial numbers 04470001 through 04470500 printed on the inside back panel near the battery tray. Read more.


March 8, 2005 Honeywell Sensing and Controls Recall of Thermal Switches

December 22, 2004 GE Security Inc. Retrofit/Recall of Smoke Detector Systems

The recalled smoke detection systems involve hard-wired S10A ESL smoke detectors that are incompatible with certain ITI control panels as well as certain S09A/S10A listed ESL smoke detectors that may be incompatible with control panels from other manufacturers. Model numbers are printed on the back of the smoke detectors. Inside the ITI control panel is a label that lists the name and model number of the unit. November 10, 2004 Stack-On Products Co., Inc. Recall of Stack-On Strong Box Safes

The recalled safes weigh about 14 pounds and contain an electronic keypad lock and are gray in color. They were sold with four AA batteries. Read more.




October 30, 2003 Notifier Recall for Fire Alarm Panels

The fire alarm control panel includes the central processing unit (CPU-2020 and CPU-2) and Display Interface Assembly (DIA-2020 and DIA-2) components of Notifier model AM2020 and AFP1010 fire alarm control panels with date codes from 0100 to 2003 and firmware version 3.0 and 3.01. The date codes appear on the back outer edge of the PC boards. Read more.


October 30, 2003 Fire Control Instruments Recall for Audio Evacuation Units

All FCI AEUs (part number 1100-1171) manufactured prior to April 12, 2003. These AEUs are used in FireVac 7200 System Control Units. A label in the left center of the circuit board reads "FCI 7200" and "AEU." All V5 versions below V5.2-008 and V6 versions below V6.0.14 are included in the recall. Read more.


September 8, 2003 Fire Escape Hoods Recalled by Essex PB&R

These fire escape hoods are sold as "Plus 10® Filter Breathing Unit." The hoods are sealed inside foil bags with blue and white labels on them listing the product name and reading, in part, "It's not just ten minutes of air. It's a lifetime." The foil bags are stored inside blue, zippered, nylon pouches. Read more.
