October 30, 2008 Homelite Consumer Products Announce Recall to Repair Chain Saws Due to Chain Brake Failure

This recall involves Homelite brand chain saws with the following model numbers: UT10514, UT10516, UT10517, UT10518, UT10520, UT10540, UT10560 and UT10918. Affected chain saws have manufacture date between November 2007 and August 2008. Both the model number and the date of manufacture appear on the chain saw’s data plate, located beneath the rear handle of the saw. Products with a green “dot” sticker under the bottom side of the handle area and on the outside of the package are not subject to this recall. Read more.


September 3, 2008 Cordless Screwdrivers Recalled by Menards Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

The recalled cordless screwdrivers are green and gray in color. “MASTERFORCE” is printed on the top of the tool. “LITHIUM-ION TECHNOLOGY” and “241-0717” are printed on the handle. Read more.


August 5, 2008 DEWALT Recalls Cordless Brad Nailers Due to Injury Hazard

This recall involves the DEWALT DC608 18 Volt Cordless 2” 18 Gauge Straight Brad Nailer with date codes 200728 through 200821. “DC608” is located on the right side of the magazine. The date code can be found on the underside of the handle, once the battery pack is removed. Units stamped with an “M” following the date code are not included in this recall. Read more.


June 24, 2008 Dollar Tree Recalls Glue Guns Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves the “Crafters Square Hot Melt Mini Glue Gun” with product number “939701”. The gun dispenses hot glue and is intended for craft projects. The glue gun is black with an orange trigger and measures approximately 4 1/2 inches from the back of the gun to the tip. It has a 44-inch electrical cord attached. “Crafters Square” and “939701” are located on the guns’ packaging. “DS-010 Glue Gun” is written in raised letters on the handle of the gun. Read more.


June 12, 2008 Robert Bosch Tool Corp. Recalls Hammer Drills Due to Risk of Injury

The recalled hammer drill is blue with “BOSCH” printed on the side. The model number 1191VSR can be located on the product nameplate mounted on the side of the motor. The product’s packaging will be marked as 1191VSRK (the “K” indicates that the hammer drill was packaged with a case in a kit). Only drills with a serial number that begins with “7” are included in the recall. Read more.


May 22, 2008 Sure Grip Paint Brushes Recalled by Early Childhood Resources Due to Violation of Lead Paint Standard

The paint brushes were sold in multi-color packages of four. Only the yellow brushes are included in the recall. The paint brushes have a rounded cylinder body with tan bristle tip brushes and measure about 4 inches in height. Read more.

April 29, 2008 DEWALT Recalls Table Saws Due to Laceration Hazard

This recall involves the 10 inch DEWALT jobsite table saw model number DW744. Date codes included in the recall are 200715 through 200740. The table saws are yellow and black.
