July 10, 2018 ORTOVOX Recalls Avalanche Transceivers Due to Loss of Emergency Communications Capability

This recall involves Ortovox avalanche transceivers, model numbers 1137000006, 1137000001 and 1137000002. They were sold in black/blue (model number 1137000006), black/black (model number 1137000001) and neon green (model number 1137000002). The transceiver is used as a beacon to locate an individual in the event of avalanche burial. ORTOVOX and 3+ are printed on the top of the device. In the open/receive position, the top half of the transceiver displays a blue screen with green border that displays an image and distance reading of the buried individual. The transceivers measure about 5 inches long by 3 inches wide by 1 inch thick in the closed/transmit position. All transceivers manufactured from 2010 through 2018 are included in the recall. The manufacture date is printed inside the battery door on the back of the transceiver with a roman numeral representing the quarter of the year and a two digit number referring to the year. For example, a manufacture date of IV/17 represents the fourth quarter. The year of manufacture is five years earlier. In this case, the transceiver was manufactured in the fourth quarter of 2012. March 1, 2016 Ambient Weather Expands Recall of Radios Due to Fire Hazard

The recalled Ambient Weather radios are red and black and measure about 8 inches wide by 4 inches tall by 2 inches deep. "Ambient Weather," "AM/FM/Weather Band Radio" and "NOAA Weather Radio" are printed in white lettering on the front of the radio. The radios have a black crank handle on the back, an antenna on the top, and LED flashlight on the left side, a clip on the right side and a cable to charge a smart phone. Accessories included an AC adapter, DC converter or solar panel charger. Model number WR-333, WR-333A, WR-334-U or WR-334A-U is printed in the owner's manual. Read more.


October 20, 2015 XO FOUR Stealth Gaming Headsets Recalled By Turtle Beach Due to Risk of Exposure to Mold

This recall involves 2015 Ear Force XO FOUR Stealth gaming headsets. They are multi-use but marketed for use with Xbox One gaming systems. The headsets are black with green trim and have soft ear-cups, an audio controller and a removable microphone. They are packaged with an audio adapter. Recalled units have a 13-character alphanumeric serial number that includes C16 through C25 and do not have a green dot under the windscreen of the microphone. The serial number is printed on the inside of the headband of the headset and on the bottom flap of the box. Read more.


August 13, 2015 Ambient Weather Recalls Weather Radios Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves Ambient Weather radios. The weather radios are red and black and measure about 8 inches wide by 4 inches tall by 2 inches deep. "Ambient Weather," "AM/FM/Weather Band Radio" and "NOAA Weather Radio" are printed in white lettering on the front of the radio. The radios have a black crank handle on the back, an antenna on the top, a single LED flashlight on the left side, a clip on the right side and a cable to charge a smart phone. Model number WR-334-U or WR-334A-U is printed in the owner's manual. The AC power adapter is black and has a rounded back. Model number YHD0500500U is printed on a white sticker on the adapter. June 3, 2015 Apple Recalls Beats Pill XL Portable Wireless Speakers Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves all Beats Pill XL portable, wireless speakers. The recalled products are plastic, capsule-shaped speakers about 4 inches tall by 13 inches wide by 4 inches deep with a plastic mesh grille on the front and a built-in carrying handle to the rear. The small "b" Beats logo is on the grille and "beatspillXL" is on the handle. The speakers come in five colors black, white, pink, metallic sky and titanium. Read more.


November 19, 2014 Olympus Recalls Digital Audio Recorders Due to Burn Hazard

This recall involves Olympus digital audio recorders with model number DS-5500. The recorders are black, measure about 4.5 inches tall by 1.9 inches wide by .67 inches thick. "Olympus" and "Digital Voice Recorder DS-5500" are printed on the front of the recorder. The recorder has three smart buttons, slide switches, edit functions, 2 GB of memory, an external SD card slot and a 1.7-inch LCD display on the front. Read more.


March 28, 2013 Definitive Technology Recalls SuperCube 2000 Subwoofers Due to Risk of Shock

This recall involves the SuperCube 2000 powered subwoofers with "0912HB" as part of a serial number printed on the back of the unit. The subwoofer measures 11 inches tall by 11 inches wide by 11 inches deep and has a black cloth grille wrapping all four sides with a glossy black top cap. "Definitive" is printed on the bottom front of the speaker.

March 21, 2013 tc electronic Recalls Bass Guitar Amplifier Due to Electrical Shock Hazard

This recall involves tc electronic 250 W bass guitar amplifiers with model BH250 and serial numbers 1204763 through 12404375. The amplifiers are about 8.6 inches wide, 2.5 inches high and 9 inches deep and have a red front panel. The model and "tc electronic" are printed on the front of the amplifier. The serial number is located on a white sticker on the back of the amplifier.

November 13, 2012 Nielsen-Kellerman Recalls Microphones Due to Electric Shock, Burn Hazards

This recall includes NK R2 microphones manufactured before September 1, 2012. The recalled product is a microphone designed to be used by the navigator (coxswain) of rowed racing boats to direct the rowers. It is made of a rubber U-shaped base attached to a blue headband. A black metal microphone boom is attached to one end of the U and a cable with a flat, rubber-covered connector is attached to the other end. The microphones are used with the Cox Box and Cox Box Mini voice amplifiers. The NK logo appears on the headband. Recalled microphones have metal booms that are not covered by rubber and do not have a yellow warning tag on the cable. Read more.


November 1, 2012 Bose Recalls Dual-Voltage CineMate II Home Theater Speaker Systems Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves dual-voltage CineMate Series II and CineMate GS Series II digital home theater speaker systems designed to operate with U.S. 120-volt electrical outlets and European outlets of 220 volts or higher. Each speaker system includes two speakers, one bass module, a remote control device, an interface module and accessories. The components are black. Dual-voltage systems included in the recall have a product code of 051365, 051470 or 057971, which are the first six digits of the serial number on the product label located on the back of the bass module.
