November 10, 2005 World Kitchen Inc. Recall of Immersion Heaters

The immersion heaters are portable chrome-plated steel heaters with a white plastic handle and mug hook used for warming tea, coffee, soup, or other liquids. "IMMERSION HEATER," and "MADE IN TAIWAN" are embossed on the white plastic handle of these heaters. Some products were sold under the EKCO brand and others were sold with no brand. Read more.

November 9, 2005 Thane International Recall of Perfect Air Ultra Air Purifiers

The Perfect Air Ultra™ is an air filtration device to counter indoor air pollution. It measures approximately 12 inches high, 15 inches wide and 6 inches deep, and weighs about 3.2 pounds. The outer casing is made of white plastic and has a gray function plate that is inserted into the top of the unit. The purifier has four stacked tubular rows with a series of horizontal vents along the length of each row. "Perfect Air Ultra™" is not written on the unit, but is written on the instruction booklet included with the unit. Read more.

October 19, 2005 International Comfort Products LLC Recall to Repair "Packaged Gas Electric" Heating and Cooling Units, or "Gas-Packs"

The recall involves certain limited "Gas-Packs" sold under the brand names Airquest, Arcoaire, Comfortmaker, Heil, Keeprite, Kenmore, ICP Commercial, and Tempstar. The affected units were manufactured between the 41st week of 2000 and the 26th week of 2003, and are installed outside the home. The model and serial numbers of affected units are printed on the unit's rating plate as shown in the photo below. Model numbers appear in the following typical format: PGC036K060A; serial numbers appear in the following typical format: L004112345. Affected models begin with PGC, PGF, PGS, GPFM, GPSM, or GPCM. September 30, 2005 Greenheck Fan Corp. Recall of Ventilation Units

Affected units are Sidewall, Rooftop and Centrifugal Inline ventilation units built between August 11, 2004 and April 29, 2005 containing 16 thread-per-inch 3/8-inch by ¾-inch spinlock bolts with LUX head markings. Affected model numbers are RBU, RBUMO, RDU, RB/R, SB/S, and BSU 360-420 with serial numbers 04HXXXXX through 05DXXXXX. The model and serial numbers are found on metal identification plate on the units. Read more.

September 8, 2005 The Coleman Company, Inc. Recall to Repair Coleman® Gas Grills and Patio Heaters

The recall includes Coleman® Gas Grills with model numbers 5100, 5300, 5400, 5600, 6000 and 7700, and Coleman® Patio Heater with model number 5040. The model name and number can be found directly on the front of the grills and on the inside cover of the heaters. Read more.

August 11, 2005 The Holmes Group Recall of Tower Heater Fans

The recall involves Holmes® models HFH6498-U, HFH6500-U and HFH6500TG-U and Bionaire® model BFH3530-U. The recalled heaters also have date codes beginning with 2604 through 3804 for all units, except for Holmes® model 6500TG-U, which has date codes ranging from 2604 through 4704. The model and date code can be found on the silver label on the back of the unit. The heater fans are 26 inches tall; come in all gray, two-tone gray, or black and gray; and have either the word Holmes® or Bionaire® printed on the front of the base. Read more.

August 2, 2005 DESA Heating Products Recall of Compact Gas Fireplaces

The recall includes DESA Heating Products 10,000 Btu Thermostatically Controlled Compact Classic Hearth Fireplaces that burn propane or natural gas. They have the following model names and number: Vanguard (VMH10TPC & VMH10TNC) and FMI (EFS10TPA & EFS10TNA). They have serial numbers between 015200000 and 017400000. The model and serial numbers are on the end of the shipping carton and on the model data tags inside the lower access door of the compact fireplaces. Read more.

May 5, 2005 Holmes Group Recall of Portable Electric Heaters

The recall involves the Holmes model HCH4305 portable electric heaters sold by QVC as QVC Item No. V19768. The model number and date code is located on the bottom of the heater. Recalled heaters have a date code beginning with "33xx" through "39xx". Read more.

April 27, 2005 Heat & Glo Recall of Gas Fireplaces

The recall involves all HEAT-N-GLO® Gem 36 and Gem 42 direct vent gas fireplaces. The model number is located on the rating plate inside the unit on the base pan in front of the gas control. The rating plate can be accessed by removing the lower grille on the fireplace. This recall also includes Gem 36 fireplaces that recently received a replacement burner assembly. Read more.

April 5, 2005 DESA Heating Products and Scheu Manufacturing Co. Recall of Propane Heaters

DESA and Scheu portable propane infrared (tank top) heaters with the following model names and number are involved in this recall: All-Pro (SPC-15R & SPC-30R), Reddy Heater (HD15A & HD30A) and MASTER (TT15A & TT30A). Reddy, ALL-PRO and Master Heaters imported by DESA have serial numbers between 016,000,000 and 016,159,999. All-Pro heaters imported by Scheu have serial numbers beginning with a "C" or "D" prefix. The model and serial numbers are on the carton and on the heater. The designation "Made in China" is on the carton and warning label attached to the heater. This recall involves only heaters made in China with the serial numbers listed above and does not include those made in Mexico or in China with different serial numbers. The heaters made in Mexico have the same or similar model numbers, but show "Made in Mexico" on the carton and warning label and use the prefix "M" in the serial number. There have been no problems with the Mexican heaters and they are not to be returned. Read more.
