March 28, 2017 SolarWorld Recalls Connectors Sold with Solar Panels Due to Electrical Shock Hazard (Recall Alert)

This recall involves Amphenol UTX PV model connectors sold with solar panels. The electrical connectors are used to connect various types of photovoltaic solar panels to the electrical connection system. The connectors have a black plastic exterior with "Amphenol" and "UTX PV" stamped on the end. They consist of a male pin on one end and a female socket on the other end. Read more.

March 2, 2017 Goodman Recalls Air Handlers Due to Electrical Shock Hazard

This recall involves Goodman air handler models AWUF and ACNF (A = Air Handler; W = Wall Mount; C = Ceiling Mount; U = Unpainted; N = Uncased; F = Flowrater). The recalled air handlers are most often installed in apartment and condominium units and are used with heating and cooling systems to provide climate control. The AWUF model units are wall mounted, while ACNF model units are ceiling mounted. The recalled air handlers have serial numbers beginning with 1511, 1512, or 1601 through 1610. February 23, 2017 Carrier Expands Recall of Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps Due to Fire Hazard

This expanded recall involves Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners (PTAC) and Packaged Terminal Heat Pumps (PTHP) sold under the Bryant, Carrier and Fast brand names. Recalled units include those with original power cords and those that received a replacement power cord as part of the 2007 recall. The recalled units have capacities of 7,000; 9,000; 12,000 and 15,000 BTUs and plug into 208/230-volt, 20-amp outlets. The following brands and models are being recalled: • Carrier models 52CE, 52CQ, 52PE, 52PQ, 52PC, 52ME, 53MQ; • Bryant models 840, 841, and 842; and • Fast models 840, 841, and 842. Model and serial numbers are located on the ratings/data plate on the right front of the unit, underneath the removable front panel. This recall involves CMC and New England Ropes brand 7.5 mm and 8 mm static ropes and throwlines used for rescue operations. The recalled rope models are the CMC Escape Line 5/16"/8mm (orange with yellow tracer), New England Ropes Aramid 7.5mm (tan with black tracer) and New England Ropes KM-III 5/16"/8mm (white with blue tracer). The recalled throwline model is New England Ropes NFPA (yellow with red tracer). Only ropes and throwlines with lot numbers that begin with 160101 through 1609915 are included in this recall. The model name and lot number is printed on the end band label on the rope and on the product's packaging. The ropes and throwlines were sold in lengths ranging from 150 to 2,400 feet. Read more.

This recall involves Arm & Hammer, Capture, Healthy Home, Oreck, Resista and Riccar brands of dry carpet cleaners. The powder can be sprinkled on carpets and rugs to clean and deodorize them. The dry carpet cleaner was sold in various sizes and lot numbers. The lot number is printed on stickers on each container marked with a letter followed by the five-digit lot number. November 10, 2016 Kidde Recalls Combination Smoke/CO Alarms Due to Alarm Failure

This recall involves Kidde NightHawk talking combo smoke/CO alarm with model number KN-COSM-IB and manufacture dates between June 1, 2004 and December 31, 2010. The alarms are hard-wired into a home's electric power. The unit has a compartment on the back for the installation of a replaceable 9V backup battery. The alarm is white, round and measures about 5 to 6 inches in diameter. "Kidde" is engraved on the front of the alarm.
