August 5, 2008 DEWALT Recalls Cordless Brad Nailers Due to Injury Hazard

This recall involves the DEWALT DC608 18 Volt Cordless 2” 18 Gauge Straight Brad Nailer with date codes 200728 through 200821. “DC608” is located on the right side of the magazine. The date code can be found on the underside of the handle, once the battery pack is removed. Units stamped with an “M” following the date code are not included in this recall. Read more.


July 23, 2008 Dirt Devil Vacuum Accessory Tools Recalled Due to Laceration Hazard

The recalled Dirt Devil Turbo Tool/Power Brush attachment was sold as an accessory with the following Dirt Devil vacuum models. Only vacuum tool accessories with date codes J7060 through J7365 and have a C-clip connector are included in this recall. The date code is located on the underside of the vacuum accessory. The Turbo Tool/Power Brush tools are about 6 ½ inches long by about 5 inches wide and come in a variety of colors that match the color of the vacuum. The housing of the tool was made in clear, red, green, or light blue with clear, light blue, dark blue, red, purple, or black turbine fans with matching brush rolls. Read more.


July 2, 2008 RadioShack Recalls Power Supplies Due to Electrocution and Fire Hazards

The recall involves RadioShack 13.8V DC Power Supplies, catalog numbers 22-507 and 22-508 with date codes from 08A04 through 01A08. Date code format is MMAYY where MM is the month and YY is the year. The catalog number and date code are located on the back of the power supply. Power Supplies with a green dot on the product and the product’s packaging have already been repaired and are not included in the recall. Read more.


June 24, 2008 Dollar Tree Recalls Glue Guns Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves the “Crafters Square Hot Melt Mini Glue Gun” with product number “939701”. The gun dispenses hot glue and is intended for craft projects. The glue gun is black with an orange trigger and measures approximately 4 1/2 inches from the back of the gun to the tip. It has a 44-inch electrical cord attached. “Crafters Square” and “939701” are located on the guns’ packaging. “DS-010 Glue Gun” is written in raised letters on the handle of the gun. Read more.


June 12, 2008 Robert Bosch Tool Corp. Recalls Hammer Drills Due to Risk of Injury

The recalled hammer drill is blue with “BOSCH” printed on the side. The model number 1191VSR can be located on the product nameplate mounted on the side of the motor. The product’s packaging will be marked as 1191VSRK (the “K” indicates that the hammer drill was packaged with a case in a kit). Only drills with a serial number that begins with “7” are included in the recall. Read more.


June 10, 2008 Crate and Barrel Recalls Shag Rugs Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves the “Remy” shag rugs with SKU numbers listed below. The rugs are made of cotton jersey. The large rugs measure 5’ by 8’ and 2.5’ by 7’. The small rugs measure 5’ round, 2’ by 3’, 4’ by 6’. “Remy” and the SKU number can be found on the back of the product label. Read more.


May 29, 2008 Miele Recalls Gas Dryers Due to Risk of Gas Leak or Fire

The recall involves Miele gas dryers, model T 9820. The dryers are residential super-large capacity units that are white-colored. The serial number can be located on the rim of the door opening, and is written as “Nr:xx/” followed by an 8-digit number in the range from 66461685 to 89921848. Read more.


May 22, 2008 Sure Grip Paint Brushes Recalled by Early Childhood Resources Due to Violation of Lead Paint Standard

The paint brushes were sold in multi-color packages of four. Only the yellow brushes are included in the recall. The paint brushes have a rounded cylinder body with tan bristle tip brushes and measure about 4 inches in height. Read more.


May 21, 2008 American Flame Recalls Fireplaces to Replace Gas Valves Due to Fire and Explosion Hazards

The recall involves American Flame AF-4000 series fireplace gas valves installed in residential fireplaces made by twelve manufacturers under the following brand names: Pacific Energy, Travis Industries, CFM Corporation, Canadian Heating Products, Portland Willamette, Rasmussen, Chimeneas de Columbia, Twin Eagles, FDM, Inca Metals (Savannah Heating), Even Temp, and Valley Comfort. The valves were installed in some but not all fireplaces. Date codes included in the recall include 0622 through 0718. The gas valve model number is located on a label on the bottom of each gas valve. The date code is located above the label. Read more.
