November 16, 2006 Scott Electric Co. Inc. Recalls Counterfeit Circuit Breakers Due To Fire Hazard

The counterfeit circuit breakers include Square D QO-series models 115, 120, 130, 160, 215, 230, 260, 1515, and 1520. Actual Square D circuit breakers have (a) the amp rating written on the handle in white paint on the front of the breaker; (b) on the side of the breaker, where wire terminal screw is located, the arc shoot opening should have squared corners with the bottom edge of the opening angled up; (c) the mounting clip should be yellow chromate with half of the top of the clip visible; and (d) the Square D insignia should be molded onto the breaker. If your Square D breaker does not match this description, it could be counterfeit. Read more.

November 8, 2006 DeWalt Recalls Framing Saws and Circular Saws for Laceration Hazard

This recall involves DeWalt DW378G and DW378GT 7 ¼-inch framing saws with date codes 200301-49 through 200637-49. The model numbers for the framing saws are located on the side of the housing. The date code is located either on the name plate or under the handle near the power cord exit. Circular saws involved in this recall have model number DC300 with date codes 200601-49 through 200637-49. The model number on the circular saw is located on the name plate on the top of the motor housing. The date code on the circular saw is located on the underside of the motor housing. Framing saws marked with a "V" on the underside of the handle near the cord set and circular saws marked with a "V" on the underside of the motor housing or under the handle where the battery is inserted have already been repaired and are not involved in this recall. November 8, 2006 WMH Tool Group Inc. Recalls Wilton Mitre Saws for Laceration Hazard

The recall involves all Wilton-brand, 10-inch Compound Mitre Saws, including models with the Laser Line feature with model numbers 99164 and 99192. The model number is written on a black label on the motor housing. Read more.


October 31, 2006 Weil-McLain Recalls Ultra Series Boilers for Carbon Monoxide Hazard

The recall involves Weil-McLain Ultra 80, Ultra 105, Ultra 155, Ultra 230 and Ultra 310 condensing, high-efficient, gas-fired boilers for space heating. The user's manual and installation manual have "Ultra Gas-Fired Water Boiler" on the cover. The boilers are wrapped in a glossy silver/flat black jacket and either stand on the floor or are wall-mounted. The serial numbers range from CP5071716 through CP5327000. When the panel on the front of the boiler is removed, a bar-coded label with the serial number is located on the lower right hand side of the boiler itself. "Weil-McLain" is written on the front panel of the boilers. Read more.


October 25, 2006 Delta Faucet Co. Recalls Bathtub and Shower Temperature Control Valves Due to Scald Hazard

The Universal Multichoice Valves were sold under the Delta brand name. The valves are used in bathtubs and showers to regulate the temperature of the water flow. The valves are located inside the shower or bathtub water control knobs. Read more.




August 29, 2006 Agio International's Outdoor Steel Dome Fireplaces Sold at Lowe's Stores Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

The recalled fireplace consists of a round fire bowl that rests on four legs, with a chimney cap and hood. The fireplace is made of steel and is painted black. They are about 3-feet tall and 2-feet wide. The item number, 91023, is printed on the package materials. Read more.
