April 6, 2006 Serious Injuries Prompt Recall of Mini-Trampolines - New Instructions to Be Provided To Consumers

The round, black mini-trampoline measures 36 inches across and has six 7 ½-inch long metal legs. The mini-trampoline is used for in-place jogging and other cardiovascular exercises. Most mini-trampolines that have model numbers containing 35-1625 are included in the recall. Model 35-1625C and 35-1625CW units are not included in the recall. The model number along with the customer service and serial numbers are stamped on a black and white label on one of the legs containing the name "Stamina." Read more.


March 31, 2006 Child's Death Prompts Replacement Program of Magnetic Building Sets

All Magnetix magnetic building sets including the X-treme Combo, Micro, and Extreme sets. The sets contain 20 to 200 plastic building pieces and 20 to 100 1/2-inch diameter steel balls. The building pieces are red, yellow, blue and green, and are shaped in 1 1/2-inch squares, 1-inch triangles and cylinder rods. Some plastic building pieces have "Magnetix" imprinted on them. March 30, 2006 Toy Cars Recalled for Choking Hazard

The recalled toys are soft, stuffed yellow taxis, black and white police cars and red fire engines, each with four plastic wheels. They measure about 6 inches in length and 5 inches in width. The toys have a silver-colored button on top that makes sounds when pushed. The police car and the fire engine make a siren sound. The taxi makes engine and horn sounds. "Kids Preferred" is printed on an attached fabric tag. Read more.


March 30, 2006 Children's Jewelry Sold at American Girl Stores Recalled for Lead Poisoning Hazard

The recall includes American Girl necklaces, bracelets, earrings and hair accessories for girls. The recall does not include jewelry for American Girl dolls. The jewelry's packaging features a red and white cardboard backing with "American Girl" and "Made in China" written on the front. Read more.


March 29, 2006 Radio Control Toy Trucks Sold by QVC Recalled for Fire Hazard

The Thunder Spin R.C. Road Rage Stunt Machine is 10 inches by 11 inches and was sold in blue or green. The radio-controlled Stunt Machine comes with one charger, one 9.6 V rechargeable battery pack, and one 9 volt battery. The model number, T23624, is written only on the product's packaging, located above the Universal Product Code. The Stunt Machine comes with two orange flame decals on each side of the vehicle, one of which includes "Stunt Machine" in orange block lettering. A "Thunder Spin" logo can be found on the bottom of the vehicle. Read more.


March 28, 2006 RadioShack Corp. Recalls Toy Pliers Due to Choking Hazard

The recall involves the Child Guidance "Busy Baby Activity Tool Pliers," which are about 6-inches long. The plastic toy has an orange handle, a red center knob and a yellow sliding knob on the side. The red center knob has "child GUIDANCE" written on it. The battery-operated toy makes various electronic sounds, plays music and has flashing lights. The pliers also contain multicolored beads. March 23, 2006 Reebok Recalls Bracelet Linked to Child's Lead Poisoning Death

The recall involves an 8-inch long metal bracelet with a heart-shaped charm. The name "Reebok" is engraved on the one side of the charm. The charm bracelet was provided as a free gift with the purchase of various styles of children's footwear. Read more.


March 23, 2006 Dollar Tree Stores Inc. Toy Jewelry Recalled for Lead Poisoning Hazard to Children

The rings are silver in color, adjustable, and have one of a variety of designs with a toy "gem" in the center. The necklaces have a black string with silver colored clasps and a silver charm with a "gem" in the center. The following are printed on the charms' packaging: "Mood Necklace," Mood Ring," "Glow in the Dark Necklace," "Glow in the Dark Ring," "UV Necklace" or "UV Ring." The "UV" jewelry packaging reads, "The Sun's Energy Will Change The Color." On the reverse of the packaging is "SKU#815485" and the name "Mannix." Read more.
