Name of Product: Safety Harnesses Sold with Tree Stands Units: About 500,000 Manufacturer: Hunter's View, of Peoria, Ill. Hazard: The harnesses could fail during use, resulting in consumers falling from tree stands and suffering serious injuries or death. Incidents/Injuries: None reported Description: These 2004 model year Fall Arrest Systems (harnesses) have model number 3333 and Model Year 2004 written on a white label attached to the harness or the tree strap. This recall includes Byer of Maine TriLite Stools shipped between February 19, 2004 and June 16, 2004. The affected stools are only those that have been produced in China, specifically those that bear the Byer of Maine logo screen printed in silver ink on the plastic leg hub (see image below). It is a small, crossed leg, folding stool that stows in an outside pocket of the backpack. The stool has a metal frame and a fabric seat. This recall includes units manufactured between February 2004 and March 2004. Read more.

Name of product: Big Foot Series and Lite Foot Series hunting tree stands Units: About 78,000Manufacturer: Rivers Edge/Ardisam, Inc., of Cumberland, Wis.Hazard: If the strap mounting bracket loosens or rotates, the strap hook can release, causing the tree stand to detach from the tree. If this occurs, the consumer could fall to the ground.Incidents/Injuries: Rivers Edge/Ardisam, Inc. has received three reports of consumers falling when their stands detached. Two of these consumers reportedly suffered serious injuries, including broken bones.Description: The recalled Big Foot and Lite Foot Series hunting tree stands are "hang-on" stands that can be identified by a yellow warning label affixed to the stand that reads: "Rivers Edge Hunting Products." These tree stands have dual post seat uprights and a gold-colored strap hook bracket. Only these model tree stands with the gold-colored bracket are included in this recall. Sold in: Hunting stores and catalogs nationwide beginning in January 1998 for between $60 and $120. The tree stands were manufactured from January 1998 though July 2001. Name of product: "Tree Lounge" Tree Stand LevelersUnits: 15,000 Manufacturer/Importer: CESSO, LLC, of Cumming, Ga. Hazard: If the "Tree Lounge" is subjected to significant impact from a heavy load, a tube on the leveler can crack. If the leveler is installed beneath the "Tree Lounge," the bolts attaching the leveler to the "Tree Lounge" can bend or begin to pull through the leveler. In either of these circumstances, users can lose their balance and possibly fall.Incidents/Injuries: CESSO has received three reports of consumer injury associated with leveler failure. Description: Levelers are designed for use with the "Tree Lounge" tree stand. The levelers are powder-coated green, with a T handle screw that spreads or contracts the two tubes of the leveler as necessary in order to level the "Tree Lounge" as the diameter of the tree changes during ascent or descent. Announce Recall of Tree Climbers WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the manufacturers named below, today announced voluntary recalls of the following consumer products. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product. Name of product: BBK 10010 Tree Climbers Units: 630 Importer: BBK Enterprises Inc., of San Antonio, Texas Hazard: The steel back brace on the tree climber can weaken and fail, posing a serious injury hazard to the user. Incidents/Injuries: No incidents have been reported. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injuries. Description: The recalled BBK Tree Climbers have a model number of BBK 10010, which can be found on the outside of the box. The climber, which is primarily used by hunters, has a 2-piece climbing stand with a green powder coat finish, a camouflage padded seat and an expanded metal platform. A yellow warning label on the climber has BBK’s name, address, and phone number printed on it. Sold at: Hunting gear retailers and distributors nationwide, including Mattoon Rural King Supply, Johnston Seed, Everharts Sporting Goods and Sportsradein, sold the tree climbers between August 2003 and October 2003 for about $90. The recalled units were also sold on the BBK Enterprises Web site: www.bbkhuntingsystems.com. Manufactured in: China. Remedy: Consumers should stop using these climbers immediately and call BBK or the retail store to return the units and receive reimbursement. CPSC, Ol' Man Treestands Announce Recall of Hunting Tree Stands The following product safety recall was conducted voluntarily by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product. Name of Product: Tree Stands for Hunters Units: 1,775 Manufacturer: Ol' Man Treestands, of Hattiesburg, Miss., a division of L & L Enterprises, Inc. Hazard: A serrated blade that supports the stand on a tree can bend, posing the risk of falls and serious injuries to hunters. Incidents/Injuries: Ol' Man Treestands has received five reports of serrated blades bending, but no reports of injuries. Description: The climbing tree stands included in this recall are the Original Ol' Man Double X with model number OMDX-MO, Grand Ol' Man Double X with model number GOMDX-MO, Multi-Vision with model number MV- MO, and Grand Multi-Vision with Model number GMV-MO. All units have Warning labels affixed to the stands varying in weight capacities of 250 lbs to 350 lbs. The bottom platform of each tree stand has a lot number stamped on the serrated blades that would indicate when it was produced. Only tree stands having the number 1903 or 2103 stamped on the blades of the stand bottom are included in the recall. The stands have a mesh net seat and are painted green. Sold At: Hunting supply stores, Web sites and catalogs nationwide from June 2003 through November 2003 for between $160 and $270. Manufactured In: China. Remedy: Consumers should stop using these treestands with 1903 and 2103 stamping on the blades immediately, and discard or destroy the product. Model 425BK MiniBuck Black Knives have a plastic handle and a non-serrated 1-7/8 inch drop-point blade. The knives are 2-7/8 inches long when closed and 4-3/4 inches when open. Each of the subject knives bears the designation "T" on the blade of the knife after the model number. Read more.
