February 8, 2011 Portable Space Heaters Recalled by PD Sixty Distributor Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves Creative Heating Solutions brand portable space heaters with model number CH-750, CH-750FC, CH-1500 or CH-1500FC. The heater is wooden on three sides, with metal on the fourth side. The front of the heater includes a vent and a clear plastic faceplate with six black buttons. Some units have "Creative Heating Solutions" stamped into the rear metal panel and the model number on a white label on the rear metal panel. Read more.


February 8, 2011 Lasko Recalls Portable Electric Heaters Due To Fire Hazard

The portable, electric, tower heaters are 20.5 inches tall x 8.25 inches wide x 9.25 inches deep. They are dark grey with silver front covers and black vent slats. The brand names Lasko or Air King are on the top, center of the front cover. The Lasko Model 5540 and Air King Model 8540 subject to this recall were manufactured in 2002 and have date codes that begin with a "2." The date code is on the label located on the bottom of the unit. The date code is a four-digit number on the bottom left area of the label, above the voltage number. Heaters with date codes beginning with "3," "4" or "5" are not subject to this recall. Read more.


January 12, 2011 White-Rodgers Recalls Home Heating and Cooling Thermostats Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves all White-Rodgers programmable thermostats with model numbers 1F88-XXX and 1F85RF-275 and date codes beginning with 05, 06, 07, 08, 09 and 1001 through 1039. The model number is printed on the thermostat’s front pull-down panel door. The date code is located inside the removable front cover. White-Rodgers and/or the utility company’s name and logo are printed on the front of the thermostat. These thermostats were able to be controlled by power companies in homes that took part in energy demand reduction programs. Read more.


January 11, 2011 GE and Professional Series Brand Dehumidifiers Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves 30-pint and 40-pint portable dehumidifiers manufactured between November 2006 and August 2007, and during April 2008. The dehumidifiers are white with a front-loading water bucket. "GE" or "Professional Series" and digital controls are located on top of the dehumidifier. December 16, 2010 Wal-Mart Recalls Electric Heaters Due to Fire and Burn Hazard

This recall involves Flow Pro, Airtech, Aloha Breeze and Comfort Essentials 1500 watt heaters. The heaters are grey with a metal handle on the top with vents and grey control knobs on the front. The model number is 1013 and can be found on a label on the lower left corner of the back panel of the heater. Read more.


November 23, 2010 Meijer Recalls Oscillating Ceramic Heaters Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves Touch Point PTC oscillating ceramic heater with model number PTC-902 and serial numbers between 35005-43008. Model and serial numbers are located on a sticker on the bottom of the heater. The grey/silver colored heaters are about 10 inches tall and have a screen across the front. Read more.


August 10, 2010 Additional Reports of Fires and Low Consumer Response Rate Prompt Reannouncement of Goldstar and Comfort-Aire Dehumidifier Recall

This recall involves 30-pint portable dehumidifiers sold under the brand names in the chart below. The dehumidifiers are white with a red shut-off button, controls for fan speed and humidity control and a front-loading water bucket. "Goldstar" or "Comfort-Aire" is printed on the front. The model and serial numbers are printed on the interior of the dehumidifiers and can be viewed after the water bucket is removed. Read more.


August 9, 2010 Bosch Thermotechnology Recalls Boiler Survey Kits Due to Fire Hazard

The recalled product is a service kit that was distributed for free to some contractors and distributors that contained a silver-colored adapter. The kit, which has the number 8718600187 on the side of the box, was used as part of a program to evaluate the effects of heating water quality on components of Buderus gas-fired condensing gas boilers with model numbers GB142/24, GB142/30, GB142/45, and GB142/60. July 6, 2010 Marley Engineered Products Recalls Baseboard Heaters Sold at Grainger Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves Dayton 240/208 volt model 3UG82D electric baseboard heaters. The white, rectangular heaters are 30 inches long by 6 3/4 inches high by 2 7/8 inches deep. A nameplate on the bottom right side of the base has "Dayton Electric Mfg. Co.," model 3UG82D and date code 1209. Only heaters purchased after December 21, 2009 with a date code of "1209" are included in this recall. The recalled heaters have yellow and white wires inside the panel where the heater connects to the power source. Heaters with red and black wire are not included in this recall. Read more.


June 17, 2010 Comverge Recalls Communication Module Inside TXU Energy Thermostats Due to Risk of Fire Hazard

This recall involves Comverge communication modules inside programmable thermostats sold by TXU Energy with a serial number between 1015857 and 1022518. The serial number can be found on the top of the thermostat’s plastic housing. The thermostats have “TXU Energy” and “White Rodgers” printed on the front faceplate. Read more.
