April 22, 2010 Wood Burning Stoves Recalled by SCAN Andersen Due to Injury Hazard

The recalled SCAN Andersen 10 wood burning stoves have serial numbers from 7951 through 8267. The serial number is printed on a label applied to the rear panel of the stove. These units are freestanding, black, cast iron stoves with a single front load door with glass pane. Dimensions are 35”H x 26 2/8” W x 16” D. Read more.


March 25, 2010 Lennox Hearth Products Recalls Vent-Free Gas Logs and Fireplaces Due to Gas Leak and Fire Hazards

The recalled products are Lennox Superior brand VFGL Log Sets and VF4000, VF5000 and VF6000 fireplaces. Log sets are comprised of ceramic-fiber logs with a dual gas burner system and are designed to be placed in a wood-burning fireplace or a ventless firebox enclosure. Fireplaces are comprised of log sets, a ventless firebox enclosure and accessories. Each product has a metal rating plate attached to the grate of the log sets or to the frame of the fireplaces containing the unit’s model number, serial number and other information. March 23, 2010 Simpson Dura-Vent Recalls Fireplace Dampers Due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Hazard

This recall involves DuraTech Anchor Plates with Dampers and DuraChimney II Anchor Plates with Dampers. The products are intended for use as a starter section for chimneys in fireplace applications. The dampers allow the chimney to be closed when the fireplace is not in use. Each damper is a short sheet metal vent pipe fitted with a circular damper plate within the vent pipe, and attached to a square anchor plate. The damper plate rotates around an axis rod to control the flow of air through the vent pipe. The damper plates have a weight attached to one side, and a chain attached to the other side. When installed in a fireplace application, the square anchor plate is generally not visible. Read more.


March 16, 2010 Remote Control Kits for Electric Fireplaces and Stoves Recalled by Dimplex North America Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

The recalled remote control kits are used with Dimplex, Electraflame, Symphony, Optiflame, Electralog and Charmglow brand electric fireplaces, stoves and fireplace inserts. They include a black or dark gray hand-held remote control and also a black or dark gray wall unit that plugs into an electrical wall outlet. Recalled model numbers include 47-1001, 47-1010-R and APT-1315. The model number is printed on either the plug-in unit or the hand-held remote control. February 25, 2010 Climate Control Footrests Recalled by Fellowes Due to Fire Hazard

The recalled footrests are black and made of plastic. The Fellowes brand item #80309 can be found on the serial label at the bottom side of the footrest, which can be identified by Revision or letter “A” on the label, which appears after the date code. Read more.


February 18, 2010 Motor Controllers for Submersible Pump Systems Recalled by Franklin Electric Due to Shock Hazard

This recall involves the Pumptec electronic motor controller for 115v/230v submersible motors rated 1/3 to 1 1/2 HP with model number 5800020600 and date codes of 06F45 through 09L45. The model number and date code can be found on the nameplate label located on the right-hand side of the enclosure. Read more.


December 30, 2009 Dehumidifiers Recalled by LG Electronics Tianjin Appliance Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

This recall involves 30 pint portable dehumidifiers sold under the brand names in the chart below. The dehumidifiers are white with a red shut-off button, controls for fan speed and humidity control and a front-loading water bucket. “Goldstar” or “Comfort-Aire” is printed on the front. The model and serial numbers are printed on the interior of the dehumidifiers and can be viewed after the water bucket is removed. Read more.


December 17, 2009 Home Depot Recalls Dehumidifiers Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

The dehumidifiers are beige, have four wheels, and measure 21 inches high, 13 ½ inches wide and 17 ½ inches long. “Hampton Bay” is printed on the front panel. Model HB-50 is being recalled. The model number is printed on the back interior panel. Read more.


December 8, 2009 Goodman Company Reannounces Recall of Air Conditioner/Heat Pump Units Due to Fire Hazard

The recall includes 5.0 kW Amana-brand, Comfort-Aire-brand and Century-brand Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner units with model numbers PTxxx3x50xx (Amana) and EKTxxx-150x (Comfort-Aire and Century) and serial numbers 0702112056 through 0804237539. September 22, 2009 Gas Boilers Recalled by Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. Due to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Hazard

The recall involves the Buderus GB312 gas-fired, floor standing condensing boilers. Model numbers included in this recall are: 312/90, 312/120, 312/160, 312/200, 312/240 and 312/280. “BUDERUS GB312” is printed on the front of the boiler. The boilers are blue, approximately 60 inches high and between 39 and 55 inches wide. Read more.
