December 13, 2006 BRIO Corp. Recalls Bell Rattles for Choking Hazard

This recall involves wooden rattles with six-multi-colored slats used to connect the two, red round ends. A metal bell is contained within the slats. The rattles measure 2 1/2-inches in diameter by 2 1/2-inches in height. The name BRIO appears on one of the wooden sides. Read more.


November 21, 2006 Serious Injuries Prompt Recall of Mattel's Polly Pocket Magnetic Play Sets

The recalled Polly Pocket play sets contain plastic dolls and accessories that have small magnets. The magnets measure 1/8 inch in diameter and are imbedded in the hands and feet of some dolls, and in the plastic clothing, hair pieces and other accessories to help the pieces attach to the doll or to the doll's house. The model number is printed on the bottom of the largest pieces on some of the play sets. Contact Mattel if you cannot find a model number on your product to determine if it is part of the recall. Polly Pocket magnetic play sets currently on store shelves are not included in this recall. Read more.


November 15, 2006 Target Recalls Various Toys Due to Lead and Laceration Hazards

The recall involves "Kool Toyz" brand toys, including sets containing die-cast cars, playground set, doll house set, dinosaurs, trucks, boats and planes. The packaging is primary blue and has the "Kool Toyz" logo is on the upper left corner of the packaging. November 15, 2006 Target Recalls "Play Wonder" Puzzle Tables for Choking and Laceration Hazards

This recall involves a "Play Wonder" brand puzzle table that contains three nine-piece wooden puzzles inside the table. They are light blue with paw prints painted across the top of the table. The table is about 13-inches high when assembled and has green sides. The "Play Wonder" logo is located in the front lower right corner of the packaging. Item number 204/12/0162 is located in the front upper right corner of the packaging. Read more.



November 9, 2006 Gund Inc. Recalls Woodles™ Activity Toys for Choking Hazard

The product is a baby activity toy available in various animal shapes. It consists of a soft, stuffed body with a rattle component inside the body and two smooth wooden rings attached to loops at the end of each arm. The product is available in four different styles: Rumba Lion Activity Toy with style number 58553, Gazoo Giraffe Activity Toy with style number 58554; Wango Horse Activity Toy with style number 58555, and Tippy Cow Activity Toy with style number 58556. November 9, 2006 "Cars" Toy Chests Sold at Toys "R" Us Recalled by Delta Enterprise Due to Lead Poisoning Hazard

The wooden toy storage box is decorated with graphics from the animated movie "Cars." It has three removable cloth toy bins. "Delta" and the PO# are printed on the side panel. Only toy boxes with "PO#FJ505192" or "PO#FJ605042" marked on the side panel are included in this recall. Read more.


November 2, 2006 RC2 Recalls Toy Keys Due to Choking Hazard

"Shake ‘n Jingle Keys," "Shake & Jingle Keys," "My Jingle Keys" all by The First Years and the John Deere "Real Keys" are toy keys, with three colored keys attached to a blue, red or green remote control with electronic features. Various colored buttons on the remote activate sounds. Only toy keys with the letter "F" in the date code stamp on the packaging and product are involved in the recall. The date code can be found on the back of the remote control. Toy keys with "TE" in the date code or yellow sides on the remote are not included in this recall. Read more.


October 31, 2006 Family Dollar Recalls "Creepy Cape" Costumes Due to Flammability Hazard

The recall involves 40-inch black vinyl capes with a stand-up collar. A white sticker on the collar of the cape reads, "FLAME RETARDANT PVC" and "MADE IN CHINA." The packaging shows a green-skinned vampire wearing a black cape. Writing on the packaging includes "CREEPY CAPE," "Ages 6 To 60," and "NO. 53600." Read more.


October 18, 2006 Baby Cookie Monster Toys Sold with DVD at Wal-Mart Recalled for Choking Hazard

This recall involves the Baby Cookie Monster plush toy packaged with certain Sesame Beginnings Make Music Together DVDs. The blue plush toy has a small, felt fabric cookie attached to its hand. The plush toy and DVD are packaged in a yellow and green box with the words "Sesame Beginnings" and "Make Music Together" printed on the front.
