May 15, 2014 Legrand Wiremold Expands Recall of Under-Cabinet Power Strips Due to Electric Fire Hazard

This recall involves all Wiremold and Plugmold under-cabinet power and lighting strips with part number PX1001. The recalled power strips have four outlets and one fluorescent light and were manufactured from January 2011 through December 2013. From January 2011 through June 2012, the power strip came in a red package with the words "Legrand" and "Under Cabinet Power and Lighting" on the top front and "Wiremold-Series Part PX1001" on the bottom front. From July 2012 to April 2013, the power strip came in a white package with the word "Legrand" on the top front and "Plugmold Power Light," "Under-Cabinet Power and Lighting" and "PX1001" on the bottom front. The manufacture date code is on the bottom of the recalled power strip in a circle with the year shown as "11," "12" or "13" in the center and an arrow pointing to the number representing the month. Part number PX1001, and UPC number 0 86698 00125 3, are imprinted on the bottom of the power strip. Read more.


April 29, 2014 DGL Group Recalls Vibe USB Mobile Power Bars Due to Fire Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Five Below

This recall involves Vibe USB mobile power bars also known as portable USB power supply or portable chargers. The power bars were sold in black, white, blue, green, pink and purple. The rectangular-shaped power bars measure one square inch by three inches long and have a cord with key ring attached at the end. "Power Bank" is embossed on the face of the device. "Vibe" and "Power Bar" are printed on the front of the black packaging along with an image of the device in one of the six colors. March 27, 2014 Lenovo Recalls Battery Packs for ThinkPad Notebook Computers Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves Lenovo battery packs sold with the following ThinkPad notebook computers: the Edge 11, 13 and 14 series, the T410, T420, T510 and W510 series, and the X100e, X120e, X200, X201 and X201s series. The battery packs were also sold separately. The black battery packs measure between 8 to 11 inches long, 1 to 3 inches wide and about 1 inch high. Recalled battery packs have one of the following part numbers starting with the fourth digit in a long series of numbers and letters printed on a white sticker below the bar code on the battery pack: 42T4695, 42T4711, 42T4798, 42T4804, 42T4812, 42T4822, 42T4828, 42T4834, 42T4840 and 42T4890. March 14, 2014 MobilePower Recalls Multi-Function Power Packs Due to Fire Hazard; Sold Exclusively by QVC (Recall Alert)

This recall involves MobilePower Instant Boost 500, 6-in-1 Power, multi-function power packs with model number 2013, QVC SKU# V31873 and serial number MPC-060512-25. The model and serial numbers are located on the back panel on a white label next to the inverter fan. MobilePower Instant Boost 500 is printed on the front of the units. The power packs can supply AC or DC power and can recharge by either plugging into an electrical outlet or a DC accessory port or cigarette lighter port in your vehicle. They have two A/C outlets, a USB port, car battery jumper cables, and an air hose outlet to inflate tires. The power packs weigh 20 lbs., are black and blue color and measure about 9 inches tall, 10 inches wide and 8 inches long. Read more.


February 25, 2014 BRP Recalls Ski-Doo and Can-Am Lithium-ion Rechargeable Batteries and Heated Gloves Due to Fire Hazard

This recall involves BRP Ski-Doo and Can-Am heated gloves and replacement Lithium-Ion rechargeable batteries. The gloves are only available in black and are sold with two lithium-ion rechargeable batteries and a charger. The gloves have either "ski-doo" or "can-am" on the pointer finger and on the wrist band of each glove. Both gloves come in size XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL. The battery pack is located on the zipped pouch on the wrist of each glove. Each battery is wrapped in white plastic with black writing which includes the warning information. The recalled product codes can be found on the label sewn inside of the gloves. Recalled product codes are 446247 for the Can-Am heated gloves, 446248 for the Ski-Doo heated gloves and 4880580001 for the two Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries that are sold separately. January 24, 2014 Ergotron Recalls Television Wall Mounts Due to Risk of Injury

The adjustable Ergotron interactive wall mount is designed for flat panel displays and televisions which allows users to reposition their display angles. The wall mounts consist of three parts including a wall mount plate for securing the system to the wall; an extendible arm that allows the user to adjust the position of their television in multiple directions and a monitor plate for securing the arm to the television. December 17, 2013 Google and HP Recall HP Chromebook 11 Chargers Due to Fire and Burn Hazards; Charger Can Overheat and Melt

This recall involves chargers that were sold with the HP Chromebook 11. The charger is black with outlet pins, measures 1¾ inches by ¾ inches, and has a 6-foot long cord with a micro-USB connector on the end. The model number of the charger is MU15-N1052-A00S, which is stamped on the face of the battery charger that has the outlet pins. Read more.


December 12, 2013 Thirteen Retailers Recall 32" Coby Flat Screen Televisions Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

This recall involves black Coby 32-inch flat screen televisions with model number TFTV3229 and serial numbers beginning with LG and that have M07 or M10 in the 9th, 10th and 11th position of the serial number. The model and serial numbers are printed on a label on the back of the televisions and Coby is printed on the front. Coby USA is out of business. Read more.


December 9, 2013 Linear Recalls Personal Emergency Reporting System Transmitters Due to Battery Signal Failure

The recalled Linear PERS transmitters are components of Linear PERS products and allow users to push a button on the transmitter to summon assistance. Transmitter models DXS-LRC, DXS-LRC-LA, DXS-LRP and DXS-LRW manufactured from June 2013 to July 2013 with date codes 1306 and 1307 representing the year and month, and 1329 (representing the 29th week of 2013) are included in the recall. The model and date codes appear on the back of the transmitter. The DXS-LRC transmitters are gray plastic pendants with a black circle in the center and can be worn as a pendant around the neck or on a wristband. The DXS-LRP transmitter is a white pendant with a green swirl design on the front. The DXS-LRW transmitter has a solid black wristband with a black plastic face and black button in the center. November 5, 2013 One World Technologies Recalls Ryobi Battery Chargers Due to Fire and Burn Hazards

This recall involves Ryobi model P113 dual chemistry battery chargers designed for use with both NiCd and Li-Ion portable power tool batteries. Battery chargers included in this recall are green and grey and have "Ryobi" printed in white lettering on the front of the charger. The model number and date code can be found on the data plate located on the bottom of the charger. Model P113 chargers with year/week (YY/WW) date codes between 0731-0852, without a nine digit part number, are included in the recall. Read more.
